Since the COVID-19 Pandemic began, in early 2020, marginalized and vulnerable populations have been especially, adversely, impacted. NASW’s Connect to End COVID-19 initiative was launched to provide equitable training and outreach that promote informed vaccine decision-making on the part of social workers and their clients, particularly among those who are vulnerable, marginalized, and/or vaccine hesitant. The summary below shows the State Profile Report for Iowa including the age group and the number of individuals with one dose, fully vaccinated, and booster dose.

IA State profile report
There has been a total of 62.5% of individuals in Iowa that have been fully vaccinated as of 07/07/2022. Individuals who are fully vaccinated include those who have received both doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine along with individuals who received one dose of the J&J/Janssen vaccine. Of those fully vaccinated individuals, a little over 50% have received a booster dose.
