As a social work student you are already part of a dynamic profession, now is the time to join your professional organization! NASW is the largest and most recognized membership organization of professional Social Workers in the world, with nearly 100,000 members across the nation and nearly 1,000 members in the Iowa Chapter. Student Membership Fees

Students who are enrolled in a CSWE accredited BSW or MSW program pay only $60 annually for membership and receive access to all of NASW benefits and services both nationally and from their state chapter. That’s over 75% off the regular membership rate! In addition, students who join NASW before graduation and maintain continuous membership, qualify for transitional rates for up to three years following graduation: BSW student members who maintain continuous membership after graduation automatically enter a 2-year transitional period with reduced dues of $116 each year; MSW students enter a 3-year transitional period with reduced dues of $116 in years 1 and 2, and $179 in year 3. Free Ethics Consultations for NASW Members

The Office of Ethics and Professional Review (OEPR) provides individual ethics consultations as a benefit of NASW membership. Ethic consultations are a resource for members who encounter ethical dilemmas and/or have ethics related questions. Consultation services are intended to guide members through the applicable standards in the Code along with other pertinent considerations and resources that address their concerns and allows them to make reasoned ethical decisions. While we can discuss ethical issues, we cannot provide definitive answers for a particular situation or make decisions for members.

Ethics consultation telephone calls are answered on a first come first served basis and are not pre-scheduled. If you call during consultation hours and receive a voice-mail response, we request your patience as we complete earlier member calls, Please leave a brief message clearly stating your name and contact number and we will return your call. Due to the high call volume, we ask that you allow 24 hours for a return call.
