This workshop will explore how identity as a concept is fluid and strategies for helping clients let go and amend their concept of identity and how that can help build self-esteem and improve self-perception.
Presented by Gregory L. Nooney, MSW, ACSW, LISW, LCSW
1) Participants will learn to distinguish between structuralist and non-structuralist world views.
2) Participants will explore how notions and understandings of identity fit into these two different world views. The Western dominant culture privileges a structuralist world view,
which frequently results in harm.
3) Ways to support a non-structuralist world view will be explored.
