This two-day training series is dedicated to empowering social workers and mental health advocates to step into political leadership. Through this program, we aim to equip social workers with the skills and insights needed to create meaningful change in our communities. Insomnia is a common sleep disorder with major impacts on health. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is as effective as medication, with longer-lasting results.

 

This session covers the basics of CBT-I, including:

-DSM criteria for Primary Insomnia
-How sleep affects mental health
-Behavioral & cognitive strategies for better sleep
-Learn to treat sleep disturbances as a primary issue, not just a symptom

We hope to secure a table in the cafeteria (ground level) where we can provide you with some guidance. 

The schedule will be very informal - you can arrive as you would like and you can leave when you have conducted your business (i.e. talking to legislators and/or attending subcommittee and committee meetings). Subcommittee meetings start as early as 7:30 am.
