- Articulate the ethical foundations of self-care in social work practice, including how the NASW Code of Ethics frames self-care as a professional responsibility.
- Differentiate between burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary traumatic stress, including signs, symptoms, and contributing organizational and systemic factors in the social service agencies.
- Critically examine the ethical implications of impaired practice, including how unresolved stress and trauma exposure may compromise professional judgment and client outcomes.
- Evaluate personal and organizational strategies for supporting worker well-being, resilience, and sustainability in ethically challenging environments.
- Develop a personalized self-care or sustainability plan that aligns with ethical guidelines and addresses risk factors for burnout and secondary trauma for social work professionals.
